Tourism and history of Fažana:
Fažana is also known from Roman times by the factory of amphorae and various vessels, olive oil and wine. Today, coast of Fažana is full of historical summer residences and ancient villas, showing that its beauty has been recognized ever since ancient times. In Fažana it is necessarily to visit the sculpture in the Park of pilchard - open-air gallery, at the center of Fazana there is the parish church of St. Kuzma and Damjan from the 16th century with many Gothic and Renaissance elements. Church of St. Marija Karmelska is decorated with beautiful frescoes and the numerous ancient Roman villas are important part of the history of Fažana.
There are no hotels directly in Fažana but there are several other options to choose from. On the neighboring Brijuni islands you can shoose to stay in hotelu Istra*** or its annex buildings Karmen** and Neptun**. Bi-Village resort**** is located just south of Fažana and it is homt to varios rooms, apartments and mobile homes, all accompanied by a many additonal srevices and amenities. This resort is located alongside of a long pebbly beach which is perfect for families with childen. A bit north of Fažana in a little village called Peroj you will find Villa Letan**** which is a hotel-type building with amazing rooms and a great outdoor pool. Right between Peroj and Fažana is a home to Camp Pineta** where you will find several type of mobile homes that can accommodate up to 6 people. If you preffer spending your holidays in a private apartments make sure you take a look at apartments Darian, Katarina, Luciano and many others. A bit more north of Fažana you will find a village called Barbariga where you will find an apartment resort that is divided into Apartments Barbariga** and Apartments Barbariga***.
