The hotel is included in the register of the world´s cultural heritage. The hotel was first opened in 1900, which makes it the oldest hotel in Split. The building itself is from the 17th century. Hotel Slaven is situated in the middle of the Palace, in the part which used to belong to the emperor´s personal chambers. The most preserved Roman spa center on the Mediterranean, can be found in the basement of the hotel.

2. Ethnographic museum Split - Ethnographic Museum Split is located inside the Palace of Diocletian, in areas which the emperor himself had used as his private quarters. An integral part of this impressive Museum´s building is also the church of St. Andrew de Fensetris, built by Sever the Great who adapted one of the six bedrooms (cubiculuma) located in the western part of the imperial apartment of Diolecletian.
